Meet the Artist
Tania Walker, born in Alabama in 1996, stood out from her siblings not only with her artistic talent but also with her innate ability to see the world through a unique lens. Her love for drawing blossomed at a young age when her mother taught her the importance of isolating shapes to produce a better picture. Little did she know that this seemingly simple act would ignite a passion within her that would shape her future as an artist.
As time went on, Tania's skills flourished. In 2021, however, tragedy struck her life when she observed a suicide while working as a security guard at a hotel. It was during this dark and challenging period that the transformative power of art truly revealed itself.
Seeking solace and a refuge from the overwhelming grief, Tania turned to art as a way to navigate the intricacies of her emotions. Venturing into the realm of watercolor painting, she found herself drawn to the art of portraiture. What fascinated her the most was capturing the inner light that shone within her subjects, immortalizing their essence on canvas.
Inspired by the works of influential artists such as Basquiat, Klimt, and Schiele, Tania embarked on a journey of exploration. Embracing abstraction and emphasizing form, she began to infuse her own unique style into her art. Each stroke of her brush became an expression of her deepest emotions, enabling her to communicate the intangible aspects of the human experience.
